Chief engineer/director of engineering

posteskey responsibilities include: * manage the general maintenance of the hotel building and ensure its services are operating to an optimum level. * ensure the effective operation of all the mechanical and electrical systèms and equipment by implementing and managing a preventative maintenance program. closely monitor the condition of the physical property and equipment by conducting continual inspections of the building. ensure that preventative maintenance schedules are in operation and regularly upgraded. * provide advice to senior management on all aspects of engineering support, environmental controls and the operational efficiency of the property. * ensure the effective financial management of the engineering department by setting maintenance budgets, capital works programs and engineering plans and ensuring that performance against there are regularly monitored and reviewed. * responsible for the general cost control aspects of maintenance, the preparation of departmental cost budgets and their implementation and submission to management. * working closely with the housekeeping team to maintain a fully functioning and efficient hotel environment, with the emphasis on forward planning, routine maintenance programmes and prompt repairs. * responsible for managing and motivating the engineering team. ensure that all staff within the department are adequately trained and developed. profil recherché qualifications and skills: * must have, as a minimum, a diploma or similar qualification in mechanical engineering, building management or related fields. * must have a minimum 10 years hotel experience in hotel engineering preferably in international hotel chains. * must be presently working or have worked as a director of engineering or chief engineer in a hotel. * must have a strong knowledge of hvac (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) systèms, fire alarm and prevention systèm, smatv (tv channels distribution systèm) and électronic lock systèm. * must have a strong knowledge of preventive maintenance systèm. * must have strong knowledge of fire, life and safety standards and policies. * must have good management and leadership skills. * must be able to prepare a monthly property operations and maintenance report. * must have good analysis and problems solving skills * must be a computer literate * must be fluent in french, arabic and english
