postesdate de publication: 2010-03-10 réf. jb1442671 field engineer -gt mechanicalge energy businessge energybusiness segmentenergy - energy servicesabout usxrole summary/purposeessential responsibilities* provide on site technical direction and leadership during installation, startup, commissioning and maintenance to customer owned power generation and industrial facilities (power generation includes customer owned utilities, marine drives, industrial power plants and nuclear power plants utilizing gas and steam turbines; industrial facilities include power generation, marine, petrochemical, paper, steel, automotive and transportation industries)* prepare job-planning documents that define the scope of the outage to be performed through engineering instructions, drawings, and process instructions. provide input for daily outage and weekly installation reports.* communicate effectively with service managers utilizing customers’ ctq in job planning and execution and with resource directors regarding site arrivals, departures and job progression* provides leadership and technical direction to skilled labor performing work on customer sites* maintain strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within ge safety standards* possess technical capacity to troubleshoot and provide routine maintenance checkout for a wide range of equipment vintages* prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and a reference for future outages * troubleshoot mechanical operations and maintenance problems in the steam and/or gas turbine technologiesqualifications/requirements* bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial or electrical engineering is preferred* business acumen and ability to sell ge products to the customer * ability to work effectively with minimum supervision* customer service mindset* strong organizational skills and project management skills (prior experience preferred)* exceptional oral and written communication skills* solid interpersonal and leadership skills* prior field engineering experience is preferred·two+ years in mechanical or industrial engineering·advanced computer skills with microsoft office suite, project management and web-based applications eligibility requirements:· willingness and ability to travel significantly with no geographical restrictions · must have ability to perform night work as required to meet business needs· must have a valid driver’s license or ability to obtain oneadditional eligibility qualificationsdesired characteristics*preferred location is morocco or tunisia* other locations within the region will also be considered* field engineering program / direct hire graduate.* demonstrated ability to manage people.* project management qualifications and skills.* maintenance and repair experience power generation electrical and excitation systèms.* greenbelt certified (ge applicants).
