A Flavour Application Assistant with a global leader in the creation of Taste & Wellbeing and Fragrance & Beauty, and a key member of our Taste & Wellbeing Creation & Application team in the Casablanca office to focus on our exciting array of customers in the Maghreb & West Africa region -  Your future position?

The Taste & Wellbeing Creation & Application (T&WCA) organisation within Givaudan is at the forefront of discovering and developing new creative ingredients and flavours for all kinds of food applications focusing on the Beverage, Bakery, Sweet Goods, Dairy, Snacks, Savoury, Naturals, and other exciting categories. We are truly a global organisation consisting of diverse experts from science, creation, application, and sensory science.

We are currently looking to expand our T&WCA team in Morocco, supporting the Maghreb & West Africa region, and looking for a  ‘Flavour Application Assistant' . As a key member of our T&WCA team, you will support the preparation of flavour samples and participate in flavour evaluations and testing. You will support the creation and application process according to customer project priorities in the Maghreb & West Africa region. You will be responsible for compounding flavour samples, managing raw materials, and sending flavour samples to customers. 

You will be based in our Casablanca office and report to the Taste & Wellbeing Creation & Application Technical Manager for the region. The role offers excellent opportunities for both personal and professional development. This is a regular full-time role with us on a 3rd party payroll with a reputed local external manpower partner. The role will be on a 1-year contract to start with, and the contract could be extended later on as per our evolving business requirements in the region.

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for:

  • Prepare flavour samples as requested for customer briefs, application needs, technology performance assessment, QC standards, and physical testing.
  • Be the primary contact to provide flavour samples for other labs and functions within Givaudan.
  • Maintain all required formula records and brief documentation in the company database software.
  • Maintain an organised and updated stock of raw materials in the lab.
  • Maintain an organised collection of flavours in the lab for immediate response to briefs and application requests.
  • Support the application of flavours to food products when assigned.
  • Support the evaluation of raw materials (including experimental ingredients), new technology, and flavours in food products and provide flavour performance feedback.
  • Maintain a clean laboratory environment by observing Environment, Health, and Safety guidelines and good laboratory practices in Givaudan.

Your professional profile includes:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Biology or any other relevant discipline. 
  • 1+ years of relevant work experience in a lab, applications centre, R&D, innovation, or production facility, preferably with a reputed company in the Flavour, Food, Beverage, Chemicals, Medical or Pharmaceutical sectors. 
  • Have a passion and interest in new flavours and foods and well-developed tasting skills.
  • Good knowledge of lab equipment and the handling of raw materials or chemicals used to perform lab functions.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Good proficiency in the English language. Knowledge of additional languages like Arabic or French will be advantageous.
  • A team player and comfortable with diversity.
