Description du poste The preferred candidate would be able to demonstrate the following Database Administration tasks and understanding to a high degree of capability. To enable them to converse with other Senior DBAs within APM Terminals. The main objective of this role is to Lead multiple automation initiatives within the identified database workstreams. This role may require Global travel when the business needs arise and flexibility to work outside of core office hours due to the different time zones of key stakeholders. The role is hybrid working from home and 2-3 days in the local Tangiers office.
GENERIC DBA ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install and maintain the performance of database servers.
- Install and maintain HA scenarios AON replication.
- Knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards.
- Develop processes for optimizing database security.
- Set and maintain database standards.
- Database access management.
- Performance tuning of database systems.
- Install, upgrade, and manage database applications.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors.
- Triage reported issues to accurately identify, escalate, and respond to critical matters in support of Terminal Operations.
- Identify root causes of outages and issues and prepare plans for permanent changes to eliminate/reduce chronic issues.
- Recommend and implement emerging database technologies.
- Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
- Work with the Global Platform teams for application upgrades.
- Documentation; implementation, deployment plans and standard operating procedures.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field in automation.
- 5+ years of experience in database management/architecture/software development.
- Microsoft Certified Systems Expert or Azure Data Engineer Associate.
- Prince 2, MSP, Agile or other related Project Management qualification.
- Good appreciation of Open-Source technologies and software development tools.
- Excellent communication, listening and organisation skills.
- Strong stakeholder management with proven ability influence and negotiate.
- Self-motivated with a can do and delivery focused mindset.
- Fluent in English [main DBA Team are based in Algeciras so ability to converse in Spanish would be valued].
- Awareness and appreciation of different cultures and working practices.
