We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Deputy Chief of Party for the anticipated USAID /Morocco - funded Climate Program . This position will be based in Morocco with an expected pro gram office in Rabat and is contingent upon award. Project Description The proposed USAID/Morocco Climate Program will support efforts to mitigate the impact of climate change in Morocco, promote climate change adaptation best practices, and strengthen the resilience of vulnerable communities to climate change through education, economic growth, and governance programming. T he Program will also seek to s upport Morocco in achieving its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs ) including adaptation initiatives. Through its implementation, the Program will support the definition of priority actions that will be the most impactful and relevant in catalyzing climate action, building resilience, particularly for marginalized groups, and reducing emissions Position Description The DCOP will report directly to the Chief of Party (COP) and work in tandem with other technical and operational staff to support efficient and effective pro gram implementation. They will take a leadership role in ensuring the p rogram meets stated technical and operational delivery goals, quality standards, and reporting requirements. In support of the COP, they will provide oversight of financial and administrative aspects of the program as well as select technical elements. Working directly with the COP, the DCOP will manage select p ersonnel and other technical and operations staff to ensure all work is of the highest quality a nd professional expectations. Further, in collaboration and coordination with the COP, the DCOP will also coordinate among USAID, donors, other implementing partners (IPs), and numerous Government of Morocco ( GoM ) institutions and representatives . Recruitment is contingent upon successful award of the pro gram and the selection of the final applicant is subject to USAID approval. Job Responsibilities Provides leadership to select technical and operational staff and ensures clear roles and responsibilities; maintains clear lines of communication with pro gram team members . Minimum Qualifications Minimum ten years of progressively responsible technical management experience in support of international development programs. ( at least five years at a senior level / DCOP equivalent ) required . Demonstrated knowledge of USAID programs, project cycles, project implementation and compliance requirements . Work experience in Middle East and North Africa required , Morocco highly desired . Minimum 5 years' experience in relevant technical are as of this activity — climate change r esiliency and adaptation , climate-smart agriculture, and water scarcity —private sector engagement programming desired Demonstrated ability to work in complex environments, across different cultures , and manage diverse teams to deliver impact within agreed timelines across a broad geographic area. Demonstrated ability to coordinate local partner capacity building activities, including technical and managerial capacities , when appropriate . Oral and written fluency in English required ; working knowledge of Arabic and/or French preferred. This job description summarizes the main duties of the job.
