HR Generalist for the Maghreb region (Part-time opportunity)

An HR Generalist with a global leader in the creation of Taste & Wellbeing and Fragrance & Beauty, and a key member of our regional HR Operations team supporting critical HR activities for our business and teams in the Maghreb region, and based in our Nouaceur office in Morocco -  Your future position?

We are looking to expand our regional HR Operations team and hire an  ‘HR Generalist'  for our HR Operations team in the Maghreb region. As an essential member of our local HR Operations team, you will support the business and teams in Morocco and Algeria for all HR-related topics throughout the employment life cycle from onboarding to exit. You will provide HR generalist support for - driving the employee life cycle, building solid relationships with line managers and employees, payroll processing, compliance, supporting HR activities and projects, and being a trusted advisor for all HR processes and programmes. ~25-30% of the role will be focused on providing HR Administration support. 

Based in our Nouaceur office in Morocco and reporting to the HR Manager for the Maghreb region, you will support our Fragrance & Beauty, Taste & Wellbeing, and Support Services teams. This will be a long-term part-time opportunity working roughly 5 half days a week from Monday-Friday. In this exciting role, with a 'can-do' mindset, you will be responsible for -

HR Management support :

  • Help implement human resource strategies and programmes for Morocco and Algeria. 
  • Support the management and administration of all HR processes, including compensation & benefits, mobility, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee engagement programmes.
  • Independently manage the operational aspects of employee life cycle changes. 
  • Facilitate training and communication programs.
  • Provide relevant information, data and reports to support decision-making and policy and process improvements.
  • Participate in and help implement corporate and site initiatives and projects.

HR processes :

  • Support the development and roll-out of all HR services, processes, and systems across the countries in scope, in close collaboration with the Regional HR Centre of Excellence teams. 
  • Help promote employee feedback methods to improve HR services and processes.
  • Help define clear roles and responsibilities and streamline internal HR processes.
  • Support the proactive use of people management practices and systems and provide value-added reporting, enabling managers to make more helpful and fact-based decisions.

Payroll :

  • Manage all payroll activities for the countries in scope.
  • Help administer employee benefits for the countries in scope.
  • Prepare the payroll with high accuracy
  • Keep up to date with legal alterations and employment law changes.
  • Maintain leave and attendance records. 
  • Ensure new hires and data changes are entered into the HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Guide employees on payroll and benefits queries. 
  • Gather payroll data for inclusion in financial statements and prepare reports for management.

Employee Relations :

  • Guide managers and employees on employee relations matters, including performance management, career development, disciplinary actions, and organisational decisions.
  • Consult with the business on employee relations issues and ensure critical HR business processes like performance management, annual compensation reviews, learning and development, etc., are implemented.  

Legal & Compliance :

  • Ensure organisational compliance with employment laws and help implement new legal requirements.
  • Provide interpretation and guidance on HR policies and employment laws.
  • Inform and advise managers and staff about relevant legislation, employee relations policies and practices.
  • Ensure organisational compliance on matters of occupational health in collaboration with EHS.

Talent Acquisition :

  • Ensure compliance with the talent acquisition process and best practices.
  • Manage the recruitment process end-to-end for only the scope job level roles from sourcing to shortlisting for selection and offer management.

Learning & Development :

  • Maintain the schedule of learning events so that the most current information is available to employees.
  • Send invites and logistics information to training participants ahead of time.
  • Book venues, arrange catering services, and secure internal/external trainers.
  • Be a point of contact and information for participants and trainers.
  • Manage attendance - prepare participant lists before training sessions and track participation afterwards.
  • Prepare regular training plan reports for the management.

Your professional profile includes - 

  • Keen to only take on part-time roles for the near future. 
  • Bachelor or University degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Personnel/Labour Relations, or Law.
  • 5+ years of relevant and progressive hands-on work experience in an HR Generalist domain in international and multicultural work environments.
  • An understanding of the employment and legal landscape in Morocco and the wider region.
  • Working knowledge of ERPs like SuccessFactors is good to have. 
  • Excellent oral and written proficiency in the English and French languages. 
  • A good team player and comfortable with diversity.
