Job Scope:


The Sourcing Planning Manager (SPM) is responsible for planning the Imported finished goods (IFG), supply for the short to medium term (24 months rolling) to optimize customer service and facilitate for innovation. The SPM needs to ensure that there are no interruptions in the FG supply (except when agreed with the management) and that the highest level of customer service is achieved and ensure that all innovations are delivered on time. The SP Manager also ensures that the inventory target is met contributing to a low TWC.  The SPM triggers all capacity requirements and tracks the projects implemented by the Sourcing Unit.


Roles & Responsibilities


1 .    Stock planning 


  • Asses demonstrated capacity against annual demand plan and propose capacity projects on a monthly basis 
  • Track capacity enhancement projects and surface risks during constraining 
  • Agree and sign-off capacity with the sourcing unit

Inventory Planning 


  • Flag off the warehouse and sourcing unit capacity requirement to Logistics and Buying Departments 
  • Making rolling forecasts on IFG on a monthly basis and meet the forecast accuracy  as set by the region 
  • Manage the SLOB (slow moving and obsolete) process until the inventory is moved out from the books 
  • Tracking and controlling inventory to achieve targets laid by the region 
  • Setting inventory norms for IFG by continuously reviewing the Inventory planning model (IPM)  

CCFOT contribution by increasing stock availability 


  • Planning resources to meet projected and actual customer demand whilst ensuring effective customer service on time. 
  • Stimulating supply chain innovation and improvement ensuring minimum write-offs of Finished goods 
  • Maintain aggregate planning error within the agreed targets 
  • Re-launches, price changes and code transitions to be managed effectively to avail stock  

Catalyst to S&OP process 


  • Conduct the Demand-Supply reconciliation meeting (DSR) with the Demand Planning team 
  • Lead S&OP supply chain meeting and highlight capacity gaps 
  • Present the risks associated with the CDP (constrained DP) at the board S&OP meeting on a monthly basis 

Develop subordinates 


  • Ensure that all supply planners are capable enough to perform their jobs  
  • Recommend training and development needs for subordinates to excel in their jobs and future growth  
  • Educational background: Bac+5, Supply Chain Management Master's Degree
  • Experience : +3 years in planning
  • Required skills
  • PROBLEM SOLVING 
  • Decide best production plan to utilize machinery versus laid down run strategy for each Plant 
  • Decide the inventory levels to maintain product availability amidst DP fluctuations versus the agreed IPM based inventory norm  
  • Decide on capacity requirements  versus inconsistency in DP trends for each month  
  • Decide on the promotions in line versus the SLOB history and the push back on slow moving promotions 
  • Decide on regional targets on inventory versus localized supply network and associated inventory to be maintained 
  • The expected forecast error on inventory versus the uncertainties of morph and other innovation/ capacity projects' timing   
  • CCFOT / service level targets versus the inventory targets and the relevant intersection point 
  • CHANGE 
  • Implement the SLOB process in a consistent way so that inventory is managed well 
  • Generate proper trackers to manage inventory levels so that targets can be met 
  • Bridge gaps in the MMS under the Supply planning area and generate action plans on an yearly basis 
  • Responsible for the formulation a stock policy which will lead to an improved working capital. 
  • Manage transition activities during Project MORPH and SAP implementation 
  • The call-off function to be given a new perspective so that OR (output reliability) issues are minimized 
  • TASK HORIZON 
  • Inventory management impact will be seen on a monthly basis and will be reflected TWC 
  • Impact on production and decisions are seen within the week up to and incorporating a year
