The position “Head of the production department” reports to the “Plant Manager” of the company APTIV Connection Systems, a subsidiary of Aptiv Corporation, an American multinational which operates in the automotive industry sector.
Your Role
Coordinate and supervise production according to the product definition, custmer requirements and internal quality standards, in order to achieve pre-esablished production objectives and obtain a product of superior quality and at the lowest cost.
* The head of the Production department is the process owner responsible for flows 0 and 5 as well as the resulting results;
* Develop short, medium and long term production programs;
* Establish, in collaboration with the Plant Manager, the strategies to use to achieve the set objectives;
* Establish a savings plan at all levels of production costs;
* Plan training and development actions for the staff in their charge.
* Provide foremen with the means necessary for production;
* Communicate effectively;
* Ensure optimal use of resources;
* Ensure the performance of the different production systems;
* Ensure the start and stop of processes at the appropriate time;
* Ensure that principles of effective communication are established;
* Ensure the application of the Kms system in production chains;
* Lead meetings and encourage debate;
* Study the feasibility and implementation of new projects based on product plans, product specifications and operating parameters;
* Write reports relating to system performance;
* Maintain a strong presence in the factory
* Monitor performance and key indicators;
* Compare the results obtained against the objectives set;
* Monitor compliance with quality standards, organization of workstations, health and safety;
* Ensure compliance with procedures and work instructions;
* Analyze statistics and production ratios in order to achieve performance;
* Apply the necessary corrective measures in the event of deviations;
* Encourage continuous improvement and cost reduction;
* Recognize successful actions and appropriate behaviors;
* The organization of workstations;
* Recognize good behavior and work performance.
* Measure key indicators at different levels:
- Productivity per shift, per day, per week, per level;
- Hygiene and safety;
- Absenteeism, turnover, headcount, normal hours, overtime;
- The quality ;
- The long, medium and short term production program;
- Maintenance ;
- The cost of production;
- Production waste.
* Ensure compliance with quality standards;
* Ensure compliance with environmental standards;
* Ensure compliance with health and safety standards;
Your Background
Bac+5 or equivalent desirable in production management.
At least 5 years of experience in a similar activity.
Good relationship with company staff;
Good ability to access information;
Sense of hearing ;
Communication ;
Know how to coordinate activities with colleagues;
Conflict management ;
Mastery of computers.
Good negotiation and argumentation skills;
